A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF
DR. THQMAS R. RICH
WHEREAS, ~ the youth of Mount Prospect, as well as portions of Des Plaines
and Prospect Heights, are served by educators and facilities provided by River
Trails School Distdct 26; and
WHEREAS, DR. THOMAS R. RICH has served in the position of
Superintendent of Schools in Distdct 26 since 1980; and
WHEREAS, DR. THOMAS R. RICH has spent his entire adult life in education,
from his first teaching position in 1957 in Hamilton, Ohio and through and
including the many advancements to his present position as Superintendent of
Schools; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his many contributions as an educator, DR. THOMAS
R. RICH has also given generously of his time, having served as a member of
the Prospect Heights Lions Club, the Rotary Club and Regional Chairman of
the United Way; and
WHEREAS, following his 36 year career in education DR. THOMAS R. RICH
will retire in 1994.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
~ECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect as well as the residents of the Village do hereby extend
appreciation to DR. THOMAS R. RICH on the occasion of his retirement and do
further wish happiness, good health and enjoyment in retirement.
SECTION TWO: That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to DR. THOMAS
R. RICH.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
AYES: Clowes, Corcoran, Hendricks, Skowron, Wilks, Farley
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Hoefert
