RESOLUTION NO. 37-94
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
REFERENDUM QUESTION ON THE BALLOT OF THE
PRIMARY ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 8, 1994
WHEREAS, the General Election was held on Tuesday, November 8, 1994 which
contained the following referendum question for the Mount Prospect Public Library:
" Shall the annual library tax for renovation, expansion, maintenance, and
operation in the Village of Mount prospect be increased from .27 percent to
.53 percent?"
and
WHEREAS, the local Canvassing Board has conducted the official canvass and
presented the results; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby
declare the results of the November 8, 1994 election for said referendum question.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That pursuant to the Consolidated Election Laws of the State of Illinois,
the Primary Election was held on Tuesday, November 8, 1994.
SECTION TWO: That an official canvas was conducted by the Local Canvassing Board
for the Referendum Question of Village of Mount Prospect, being the subject of this
Resolution, declaring a total of 15,153 ballots cast, with the Referendum question
receiving the following votes:
Yes 4,941
No 8,381
SECTION THREE: That inasmuch as the Referendum Question pertaining to increasing
the tax levy for the Mount Prospect Public Library received greatest number of negative
votes, it is declared that this Question failed.
SECTION FOUR: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of
this Resolution to the Cook County Clerk Election Department and the State Board of
Election Commissioners, as provided by law.
SECTION FIVE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
AYES: Clowes, Hendricks, Hoefert, Skowron, Wilks
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Corcoran
