HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 25-97 04/02/1997CAF/ 4/2/97 RESOLUTION NO. 25-97 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT HELD APRIL 1, 1997 WHEREAS, the Consolidated General Election was held in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illino!s, on Tuesday, April 1, 1997, for the purpose of electing a Village President, three (3) Village Trustees (4 year terms), two (2) Library Trustees (6 year term); and WHEREAS, the local Canvassing Board has conducted the official canvass and presented the results; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby declare the results of the April 1, 1997 election for said Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That pursuant to the Consolidated Election Laws of the State of Illinois, a regular election was held for the Village of Mount Prospect, Tuesday, April 1, 1997. SECTION TWO: That an official canvas was conducted by the Local Canvassing Board for the Village of Mount Prospect declaring 7,685 ballots were cast as follows: Village President - 4 year term Gerald L. "Skip" Farley 3,603 George A. CIowes 2,873 Ernest A. Lasse 962 Village Trustee - 3 positions, 4 year terms Timothy J. Corcoran 5,315 Dan Nocchi 4,794 R. M. Lohrstorfer 3,335 Michael A. Zadel 2,313 Scott E. Stassen 2,251 Thomas A. Davies 1,701 Library Trustee - 2 positions, 6 Year terms James E. Kobler 3,449 John de Grasse 3,189 John A. Nichols 3,047 Tom Franson 1,910 SECTI_ON THREE: A) That inasmuch as Gerald L. "Skip" Farley received the greatest ~ of votes, ~'e is I~ereby declared elected to the Office of Village President. B) That inasmuch as Timothy J. Corcoran, Dan Nocchi and R. M. Lohrstorfer received the greatest number of votes, they and each of them are hereby declared elected to the Office of Village Trustee of the Village of Mount Prospect for four (4) year terms. C) That inasmuch as John de Grasse and James E. Kobler received the greatest number of votes, they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Trustee of the Village of Mount Prospect for 6 year terms. SECTION FOUR: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Cook County Clerk Election Department and the State Board of Election Commissioners~ as provided by law. SECTION FIVE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
