Village Hall Community Center The meeting convened at 9:00 a.m. Those present were Mayor Irvana Wilks, Trustees Paul Hoefert, Steven Polit and Mike Zade\. Representing the Vil1age were Village Manager Michael Janonis and Human Services Director Nancy Morgan. Residents in Attendance Kimberly Skic Carol Tortorel1o Derek Steinweg Jim & Pat Chylik David Schein Rodger Kruse Mal Holec North Owen Street South Elmhurst A venue Pima Lane Locust NaWaTa Avenue South Louis Street Quince Lane Kimberly Skic, North Owen Street complimented the October Fest. Carol Tortorello, South Elmhurst Avenue stated she had no issues. Derek Steinweg reported that the Youth Commission distributed surveys and bracelets, which they hope wil1 help with PR for their Commission. Trustee Polit is the new adult advisor appointee. Jim and Pat Chylik received several answers to questions. 1) The Randhurst Snow Sculptures moved to Michigan Ave. 2) Hundreds of tickets are issued for street parking after a 2" snow fal\. Tickets are also issued for blowing driveway snow in the street. 3) The last day for leaf removal is November 21. After that, leaves can be bagged and wil1 be picked up free until December 15. 4) The only effective way to enforce an ordinance for cel1 phone usage while driving is with a regional or state law. The Manager said that the Northwest Municipal Conference may work on this. David Schein, NaWaTa Avenue received the answer that there was no maximum height for leaves at the curb and no limit on the number of yard waste parcels. Mr. Schein reported that political signs were stolen by St. Raymond's students. The Mayor and Mr. Schein will meet with the principal to discuss. The Newsletter is not translated in other languages due to the cost, however the Vil1age could review this being done on the web page. Mr. Schein complimented the Police on their call responses. Rodger Kruse, South Louis Street brought in the Sow Thistle from the parkway at Prospect/William. Trustee Hoefert announced that an Eagle Scout will distribute Emergency Kits to senior citizens at 2:00 p.m. today in the Community Room. Mal Holec discussed the Canadian National acquisition of the E.J. & E Rail System. He was informed that the comment period is over and the decision is with the Federal Government. On revenue concerns, the Manager said that Mount Prospect is conservative with the estimates. Trustee Polit encouraged everyone to "Buy Mount Prospect".
