AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 71 OF CHAPTER
VI OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT BUILDING CODE OF
1957 AS AMENDED
~mEREAS~ under certain conditions~ automatic sprink-
ler systems are not required by the National Board of Fire
Underwriters in buildings not exceeding 13~500 square feet in
area~
NOt'l, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Section 71~ Chapter VI, of the
Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957 as amended~ be and the
same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter read as follows:
1171. Buildings used for the manufacture, sale
or storage of combustible goods or merchandise
and exceeding in area 15,000 square feet when
such building is of fireproof cqnstruction; or
if not of fireproof construction 10,000 square
feet except up to 13,500 square feet in such
buildings which abut two (2) streets oft a
street and a public way or a street and perma-
nent open area of twenty-one (21) feet or more
in vddth. II
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval
according to law.
Section 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed~
reserving~ however, to the Village of Mount Prospect any rights
which have accrued to it against any person~ firm or corporation
under any ordinances or sections of ordinances which may be and
are hereby repealed.
