AN ORDINANCE amending Al"ticle ill
of Chapter 18 of the l;,'hmicipal Code of
Mount Prospect of 1957 limiting the uee
of trucks en certain fJtl'eets .
VlHER~~ Wille Street, Pin.e Street, Elmhurst Av'enue, l-Oka
Avenue, Hi-Lusi Av~nue between Prospect Avenue and Lincoln Street a.nd
Wa-Pella Avenue between Central Road and Lincoln Street, all being
residential streets in the Village of MOUIlt Prospect, are heavily populated
with children who.e safety demands that traffic on said streets be limited;
and
WHEREAS, the said streets .are narrow, of light construction and
wholly unsuited for heavy traffic; and
W-HEREAS, the said streets will break up under continued use by
other than ordinary pleaauJ.'e passenger cars.
NOW, THEREFOREp BE IT ORDA.1NED by the President and Board

of Trustees of. the Village of Mount :Prof1pect, County of. Cook aDd State of
Illinois:
SECTION 1. That Article m of Chapter 18 entitled "Tra.ffic" is
hereby amended by adding thereto Section 18.336 to read a8 follows:
Section 18. 336. Operation of certain vehicles restricted.
Itehall be unlawful to operate any vehicles upon Wille Street:>
Pine Street, Elmhurst Avenue~ I-Oka. Avenue, Hi-Lusi Avenue
between Prospect Avenue and Lincoln Street and Wa-Pella
Avenue between Central Road a.n.d Lincoln. Street when such
,,"Chicle is used and designed for c.tu:rying freight and other goods
and merchandise for commercial purposes unless said owner or
operator is actually engaged in the malting of delive:d.elii or pick-
ups of materials on said streeh.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance oball be in full fQ1'ce and effect
upon its paasageJ approval and publication according to law.
