Foreign Fire Tax Board Meeting Minutes
Regular Meeting
November 1st 2023
Call meeting to order at 0834
Roll Call
Present: Johnson, Lt Bocox (left meeting at 0902), Kelly, Chief Novak, Moran, Kowalczyk (arrived
at meeting at 0900), Chief Dolan (arrived at meeting at 0900)
Absent: None
Officer’s Report:
Chairman’s Report: The nomination period has ended for the FFTB. The nominees are Matt
Ekner for the position of Firefighter. Lt Bocox was nominated for the position of Lieutenant. Pat
th
Moran was nominated for the at large position. November 12 was the deadline given for the
nominees to decide if they wish to run. It was also discussed about adding the peer support
committee’s previous proposal to 2024’s annual expenditures.
Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer absent this time. No Report given
Secretary Report: Reading of meeting minutes from 9/5/2023. Motion to approve by Lt Bocox.
Seconded by Moran. FFTB Vote- Johnson = Yes, Lt Bocox = Yes, Kelly=Yes, BC Novak = Yes, Moran
= Yes, Nay = None Absent for vote- Kowalczyk, Chief Dolan

New Business:
FF Skalon Fire Behavior prop submittal. Prior to Meeting FF Skalon asked to table this proposal
until the next meeting.
FF Johnson Air purifier submittal. Discussion ensues. It was discussed about adding a fourth air
purifier to a new submittal in the future. It was decided to vote on the three air purifiers at this
time. It was decided to go with vender 2. The Austin air healthmate plus. Individual unit cost of
684.00$. Total Cost not to exceed 2052.00$. Motion made to vote by Johnson. Seconded by
Moran. FFTB Vote- Johnson = Yes, Lt Bocox = Yes,Kowalczyk = Abstain, Kelly=Yes, BC Novak = Yes,
Moran = Yes, Chief Dolan = Abstain Nay = None Submittal approved and passes FFTB vote.
Lt Schwegler Training submittal. Discussion ensues. Chief Dolan and Chief Wang present. Chief
Dolan and Chief Wang stated they are open to hiring back members to cover an engine and
ambulance so on duty crews can do multi company drills if a training opportunity presents itself.
Chief Dolan and Chief Wang also stated they are open to utilizing out of town companies for
coverage as well so on duty crews can do multi company drills if a training opportunity presents
itself. Lt Schwegler withdraws his submittal.
