Foreign Fire Tax Board Meeting Minutes
Regular Meeting
September 5th 2023
Call meeting to order at 0836
Roll Call
Present: Johnson, Lt Bocox, Kelly, Chief Novak, Chief Dolan (Chief Dolan Left Meeting at 0956)
Absent: Kowalczyk, Moran
Officer’s Report:
Chairman’s Report: It was discussed that there will be 3 FFTB positions open for election at the
first of the year. 1 FF position. 1 Lt Position, 1 at large position.
Treasurer’s Report: Current total balance is $602,848.21 as of 9/4/2023. Current expenses for
year are $64,127.23. Current collections for 2023 are $119.090.23.
Secretary Report: Reading of meeting minutes from 7/13/2023. Motion to approve by Johnson.
Seconded by Kelly. FFTB Vote- Johnson = Yes, Lt Bocox = Yes, Kelly=Yes, BC Novak = Yes, Chief
Dolan = Yes, Nay = None

New Business:
FF Losoff Chem Pro X Submittal. Discussion ensues. Cost not to exceed $25,995. Johnson made
motion to have general membership vote. Chief Novak seconded. General membership vote 20
Yes Vote- 0 No votes. Motion passes general membership vote.
Michelle Kowalczyk peer support submittal. Lt Schwegler speaks on M Kowalczyk behalf.
Discussion ensues. Cost not to exceed $50,000. $10,000 dollar cap per person who would utilize
the funds. Funds used for out of pocket inpatient medical costs only that insurance does not
cover. BC Novak Motion to pass to send to general membership vote. Chief Dolan seconded. .
General membership vote. 17 Yes- 2 No votes. 1 abstain. Motion passes general membership
vote.
Lt Schwegler Training submittal. Discussion ensues. Questions about liability if you get injured
while on hireback for training. Questions on if training hireback hours count for your regular
hireback hours. It is decided to table this submittal until the next meeting on 11/1/2023.
FF Skalon Fire Behavior prop submittal. Prior to Meeting FF Skalon asked to table this proposal
until the next meeting on 11/1/2023.
FF Lawler Pelaton submittal. Chief Wang speaks on behalf of FF/PM Lawler and the fitness
committee. Discussion ensues. Costs not to exceed $11,862.75. Motion to Vote by Johnson.
Chief Novak Second. FFTB vote Johnson =No, Bocox = No, Kelly = Yes. Chief Novak =No. 3 no
votes. 1 yes vote. Motion Denied.
Next regularly schedules FFTB meeting 11/1/2023.
