AF/ 4/1/93 ORDINANCE NO. 4549 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE I OF CHAPTER 4 ENTITLED "VILLAGE MANAGER" OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That of paragraph H.3 of Section 4.103 entitled "Powers and Duties" of Chapter 4 of the Village Code of Mount Prospecn, as amended, is hereby further amended by specifying the numbers of votes necessary to waive the bidding procedure in order to purchase specialized materials, supplies and/or equipment; so that hereinafter, said Section 4.103.H.3 shall be and read as follows: H. 3. ~Nothing herein shall limit or prevent the Board of Trusnees, upon its extraordinary vote_ as set forth in Section 2.201.C.5 of this Code, from waiving the requirement of advertising for bids with respect to the purchase of materials, supplies and equipment or any work or other public improvement which is not to be paid for in whole or in part by special assessment or special taxation, when, in the opinion of said Trustees, there is a sole supplier, or a need for standardization of existing equipment, or the bidding procedure is impractical due to the nature of the equipment or work, the difficulty of developing specifications,or when time is of the essence." SECTION TWO: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
