AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER VI OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT BUILDING CODE
OF 1957 AS AMENDED BY ADDING SECTION 76
THERETO
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Chapter VI, General Building
Provisions, of the Building Code of Mount Prospect of 1957
as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following:
IlGutters:
76. Gutters, with downspouts running
down to splash blocks at grade, shall be in-
stalled on the low edges of the roof, or
roofs, of all main buildings, or such roof or
roofs shall be provided with interior roof
drains.
Materials:
1. Copper, 16 oz., hard (cornice temper).
2. Galvanized sheet metal, 26 ga., 1.25 oz.
(total weight both sides) zinc coating
per square foot.
3. Solid wood gutters - paint inside of
gutter with two coats of pitch or three
coats of lead-in-oil paint after instal-
lation. Paint back of gutter with two
coats of paint before installation.
4. Interior roof drains shall be connected
to downspouts constructed of standard
weight cast iron, copper, galvanized
steel pipe, or other approved metal pip-
ing. II
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval
according to law.
Section 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re-
pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect

any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm
or corporation under any ordinances or sections of ordinances
which may be and are hereby repealed.
