HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 672 05/12/1959 ORDINANCE NO. h'1V AN ORDINANCE TO ANNEX CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, on following petition was (~C( 2 g filed with the , 19 (9 , the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect: "PETITION FOR ANNEXATION Now comes Prospect, under the Donald M. and says the Trinity Methodist Church of Mount a religious corporation, duly organized laws of the State of Illinois and Thomas and his wife Mary Elise Thomas 1. That the Trinity Methodist Church of Mount Prospect, a religious corporation, is the owner in fee simple of the real estate legally described in the attached plat, which plat is marked as Exhibit A and made a part of this petition. 2. That the Rev. Donald M. Thomas and his wife Mary Elise Thomas are the only electors residing on said property and by these presents join in this petition. 3. That said property is presently without the corporate limits of any municipality and is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect. 4. That the Board of Trustees of the Trinity Methodist Church of Mount Prospect by resolution adopted on May 25, 1958 and June 15, 1958 authorize its officers to seek annexation of said property to the Village of Mount Prospect. Wherefor the Trinity Methodist Church of Mount Prospect and Donald M. Thomas and his wife Mary Elsie Thomas request that the aforesaid property be annexed to and incorporated into the Village of Mount Prospect in accordance with Par. 7-6a Chapt 24 of the Illinois Rev. HOFERT NOTARY PUBLIClt ; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have considered the question of annex- ation of the territory described in said petition; and WHEREAS, the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have independently determined that said property, as described in the aforesaid petition, is not within the corporate limits of any municipality, that it is contiguous to the present Village limits of the Village of Mount Prospect, and that the aforesaid petitioners constitute the owners of record of all the land described in the aforesaid petition, and consti- tute all the electors residing on said land, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1: That the following-described property: That part of the East 7.38 chains of the West half of the Northeast quarter of Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying South of the original center line of Seegers Road (except that part thereof lying North of the present South line of Golf Road and except that part thereof described as commencing at the point of inter- section of the East line of Church Road and the center line of Seegers Road; thence South along said East line of Church Road, 2.34 chains; thence East 2.64 chains; thence North 3.10 chains to the center line of Seegers Road; thence southwest along the center line of said road 2.78 chains to the place of begin- ning and except that part thereof described as that part thereof lying South of a line 490.82 feet North of, as measured on the East and West lines thereof, the South line of said Northeast quarter - 3 - ALSO That part of the South half of Golf Road lying West of the East line of the West half of the North quarter of Section 14 and lying East of a line 2.64 chains East of and parallel with the East 7.38 chains of the West half of the North- east quarter of' said section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, be and the same is hereby annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-6 (a) of the Cities and Villages Act as amended. Section 2: That this ordinance shall be effective upon its passage and approval according to law. Section 3: That the Village Clerk of' the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby authorized and directed to record with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois, a certi- fied copy of this ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory annexed, attached hereto and made a part hereof.
