HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 674 05/12/1959 ORDINANCE NO. 6 7)1 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 22.204 OF CHAPTER 22 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT OF 1957 AS AMENDED vffiEREAS, the responsibility for maintenance of adequate sewage disposal facilities and for properly in- stalling and connecting service pipes or drains from the premises serviced to the Village sewage system is that 01' "the owner and of the person, firm or corporation occu- pying the premises serviced; and vffiEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have determined that it is in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect to set forth in the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect the absence of any obligation on the part of the Village of Mount Prospect for the cost of installing or maintaining any part of such sewer lateral lines or connections, NOH, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1: That Section 22.204 of Article II, Chapter 22 of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect of 1957 as amended, be and the same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter be as follows: llSection 22.204 Connections and Repairs. The actual connection of any drain or pipe with the Village sewer system shall be made under the direction of the Plurrilling Inspector. All materials for connections and pipes for drains shall conform to the specifications which have been approved and adopted from time to time by the Board of Trustees and kept on file by the Clerk. llThe cost for such connections from the Village sewer system to the premises as well as the cost for all repairs for service drains or pipes between the premises to the Village sewer system shall be made by and at the ex- pense of the person, firm or corporation own- ing the premises served. The Village may, in - 2 - case of an emergency, repair any service pipe or drain and the cost of such repair shall be repaid to the Village by the owner of the pre- mises served upon receipt from the Village of a bill for the labor and material involved. Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the passage, approval and publication according to law. Section 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordi- nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re- pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm or corporation under any ordinances or sections of ordinances which may be and are hereby repealed.
