HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 681 06/23/1959 ORDINANCE No.6 f I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT ZONING ORDINANCE AS A.f\1ENDED HHEREAS, a Notice of Public Hearing with respect to the question of amending the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Mount Prospect by adding to Section 8, I-I Dis- trict, subsection B, the following subsection: U'fl. Residential units, except for resi- dential apartments housing a caretaker or watch- man employeCi on the premises and their families, provided such residential apartments do not in number exceed one family living unit for each 21WO square feet of lot area. II was duly publjshed in the Mount Prospect Herald, a newspaper of general circulation in the Village of Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect in the Village Hall in the Village of Mount Prospect on the 5th day of June, 1959 at the hour of 8:00 P.M. pursuant to the provisions of the aforesaid public notice, and all persons who desired to be heard were heard and an opportunity given to all persons who desired to make remonstrances and objections with refer- ence thereto; and vn1EREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect, subsequent to said public hearing, recom- mended by letter dated June 10, 1959 that the aforesaid amendment be adopted; and WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, having further considered this matter, have determ:Lned that it is in the public interest of the Village of Mount Prospect and will enhance the general wel- fare, safety, health and morals of the residents of said Village if said amendment is adopted, - 2 - NOTt!, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1: That an ordinance entitled, "An Ordi- nance classifying, regulating and restricting the location of trades and industries and the location of buildings de- signed for specified uses; regulating and limiting the height and bulk of buildings hereafter erected or altered, regulat- ing and limiting the intensity of the use of lot areas and regulating and dete0nining the area of yards, courts and other open spaces within and surrounding such buildings; establishing the boundaries of districts for said purposes, and prescribing penalties for the violation of its provi- sionsll passed and approved December 4, 1923 and amendments thereto (and known as Ordinance No. 52) as amended, be fur- ther amended by amending Section 8, 1-1 District, subsection B, by adding thereto the following: ll71. Residential units, except for residen- tial apartments housing a caretaker or watchman employed on the premises and their families, pro- vided such residential apartments do not in number exceed one family living unit for each 2400 square feet of lot area.ll Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. Section 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordi- nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re- pealed, reserving however, to the VilJ.age of Mount Prospect any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm or corporation under any ordinance or sections of said Zoning - 3 - Ordinance which may be and are hereby repealed.
