HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 703 02/09/1960 .. , ORDINANCE NO. 703 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER VI OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT BUILDING CODE OF 1957 WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the corporate author- ities of the Village of Mount Prospect that it is in the interest of public health, safety and general welfare that the Building Code be amended to provide the type of material to be used for certain of the sanitary sewer systems; and WHEREAS, it is also the opinion of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect that it will promote the public health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the Village of Mount Prospect to make cer- tain changes for approved automatic fire or smoke detector systems, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1: That Chapter VI of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957 as amended shall be amended by adding thereto the following section 38.1: "38.1 All sanitary sewers leading from any building toa sewer line shall be vitreous clay tile with a slip seal type joint or cast iron pipe of extra heavy weight." Section 2: That Section 69, Chapter VI of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957 as amended, shall be amended to and shall hereafter read as follows: "69. An approved automatic fire or smoke detector system meeting the requirements of the National Board of Fire Underwriters as approved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, shall be installed in all buildings hereafter erected, which are occu- pied for the following uses and exceed the speci- fied areas. . , - 2 - Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. Section 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordi- nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re- pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm or corporation under any ordinances or sections of ordinances which may be and are hereby repealed.
