ORDINANCE NO. ~~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PUBLIC ALLEY
BE'lWEEN HENRY STREET AND CENTRAL ST.
IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
COOK COUNTY~ ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the following-described property has been
heretofore duly dedicated as a public alley and the corporate
authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect have determined
that the nature and extent of the public use and public inter-
est to be subserved is such as to warrant the vacation of the
alley hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid public alley is of no appre-
ciable service to the residents of the Village of Mount Pros-
pect; and
WHEREAS, the public interest will be benefited by
relieving the Village of Mount Prospect from the responsi-
bility and expense of maintaining the aforesaid public alley;

and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of the
Village of Mount Prospect to vacate said public alley in
accordance with the plat of vacation attached hereto and in-
corporated herein; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the public interest
that an easement be reserved over the East five (5') feet of
said public alley for public utilities to construct and main-
tain aerial and underground lines in, under and along the
said East five (5') feet,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK
COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

Section l: The public alley described as follows:
The 20 feet public alley in Laudermilk Villa,
being a subdivision in the SEt of Sec. 34, T.
42 N., R. II E. of the 3rd Principal Meridian
described as follows: Beginning at the SW cor-
ner of Lot lOl in said Laudermilk Villa,
thence North along the W. lines of Lots lOl to
ll2, both inclusive in said Laudermilk Villa
to the S. line of Henry St. thence West along
the S. line of Henry St. to the NE corner of
Lot l85 of said Laudermilk Villa, thence S.
along the E. lines of Lots l85 to 207, both
inclusive in said Laudermilk Villa to the N.
line of Central St. thence E. along the N.
line of Central St. to the point of beginning,
in Cook County, Illinois,
having been heretofore acquired by dedication, be and the
same is hereby vacated; reserving, however, to the Village
of Mount Prospect or to any public utility, as the case may
be, the right to construct and maintain aerial and underground
lines, pipes or conduits in, under and along the East five
(5') feet of the alley so to be vacated.
Section 2: That attached hereto and incorporated
herein as a part hereof is a plat of vacation describing the
aforesaid public alley to be vacated hereby.
Section 3: That the Village Clerk of the Village
of Mount Prospect be and is hereby authorized and directed
to cause this Ordinance to be recorded with the Recorder of
Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be effective
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
Section 5: That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re-
pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect

any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm
or corporation under any ordinances, or sections of ordi-
nances which may be and are hereby repealed.
