AN ORDINANCE TO Al-IEND SECTION 9.501 OF
ARTICLE V OF CHAPTER 9. Streets and
Sidewalks, OF THE MUl~ICIPAL CODE OF THE
VILLAGE OF HOUNT PROSPECT OF 1957 AS
AJ:'IEN1)ED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF tlOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Section 9.501 Planting. of Article
V of Chapter 9 Streets and Sidewalks, of the Code of the Village
of Nount Prospect of 1957 As Amended, be and the same is hereby
amended to and shall hereafter read as follows:
"Section 9.501 Planting. It shall be unlawful
to plant any tree or shrub in any public street or
parkway or other public place without having first
secured a permit therefor. It shall be unlawful to
plant, maintain or permit to grow any tree, shrub
or planting of any type within six (6') feet of any
fire hydrant. Applications for such permits shall
be made to the Clerk, and shall be referred by him
to the President and Board of Trustees. No shrub
shall be planted, maintained or allowed to grow to
a height of more than four (4') feet. Trees shall
be planted at least fifty (50') feet apart. All
trees and shrubs so planted shall be placed subject
to the direction and approval of the Superintendent
of Streets."
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
Section 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed, reser-
ving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect any rights which
have accrued to it against any person, firm or corporation under
any ordinances or sections of ordinances which may be and are

hereby repealed.
