HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 793 10/03/1961 10/10/2/61 ORDINANCE NO. 7f 3- Ali ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THE ~ILLAGE OF MOUNT PROS.t'ECT".L COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect have determined that the property hereinafter de- scribed is no longer necessary, appropriate, useful to, profitable to, or for the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect; and V~IEREAS, the corporate authorities find it in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect to sell the real es- tate legally described as follows: Lot 4 in Maple Crest Subdivision, being a Subdi- vision of part of the Northeast quarter of Sec- tion 34, Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the Third principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois, said property being located North of Highland Avenue and adjacent to Rand Road; NOW, THEREF'OHE, BE IT' OHDAIl'l'"ED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1. That a sale of the property described in Section 2 hereof be and the same is hereby directed to be made under terms and conditions meeting the approval of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, in accordance with the statutes of the State of Illinois. Section 2. That the Clerk of the Village of Mount Pros- pect be and is hereby directed to cause a public notice advertis- ing for bids for such property to be published once each week for three successive weeks in the Mount Prospect Herald, and said notice shall be in substantially the following form: "PUBLIC NOTICE OF ADVERTISENrENT POR BIDS ON sAlIE OF VILLAGE PRu~ERTY. "Public notice is hereby given that pursuant to the pro- visions of Illinois Revised Statute (1959), Chapter 24, Article 59, ami in accord with Ordinance No. ; t/1 duly adopted (~~, ~ , 1961 by the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, IllinoiS, sealed bids for the purchase of the unim- proved real estate legally described as follows: "Lot 4 in Maple Crest Subdivision, being a Sub- division of part of the Northeast quarter of Section 34, Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the Third principal Meridian, Cook county, Illinois; said property being located North of Highland Avenue and adjacent to Rand Road; will be received at the office of the Village Clerk, Village of Mount Prospect, Village Hall, 112 East Northwest Highway, Mount prospect, Illinois, until 8 :00 o'clock P.M. on j v.-/, ..'- , 196 ' , and that all said sealed bids so received shall thereupon be oPened at a regular meeting of the Village Board of the Millage of Mount Prospect at its regular meeting place, 112 East Northwest Highway, Mount Prospect, IllinoiS, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on 'JI/t III , 196L. "All bids must be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check made payable to the Treasurer of the Villa~e of Mount Pros- pect in the sum of at least ten percent (10%) ofOthe bid as a guar- antee of good faith and for security for the performance of such bid, and as liquidated damages to the Village in case a successful bidder fails to tender to the Village the consideration specified in the bid within thirty (30) days after said bid is accepted. "The corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Pros- pect will furnish a warranty deed with good and merchantable title. "The corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Pros- pect reserve the right to reject any or all bids and to waive in- formalities in the bids and biddll1g. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of bid opening without the consent of such corporate authorities. That bids received in response to said ad- vertisement for bids shall be opened at the regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect in the Village Hall in the Village of ~ount Prospect on the ~ day of , ..,1961, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. Section 4. That within thirty (30) days after a bid is accepted the successful bidder shall tender to the Village the consideration specified in the bid accepted and upon receipt of such consideration the President and C~erk of the Village of Mount Prospect sha~l thereupon cause the necessary legal papers to be issued in the name of the said Village to the successful bidder for the real estate successfully bid upon. The corporate author- ities of the Village of Mount Prospect will furnish a warranty deed with a good and merchantable title.
