ORDINANCE NO. 863
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 856 AND READOPTING
CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT BUILDING CODE
OF 1957 REPEALED IN ERROR.
WHEREAS, in the enactment of Ordinance No. 856 certain provisions
of said ordinance especially Section 14 thereof was enacted in error
which this ordinance seeks to correct.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois
SECTION 1. That Section 14 of Ordinance 856 a~ending provisions of
the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. That Chapter VII entitled "Heating appliances, boilers,
furnaces, fireplaces, chimneys, stacks and fire protection on same", except
paragraphs 2, 8, 13 and 15 thereof, and Chapter VIII, entitled "Materials,
Quality and Volume of Materials, Masonry and Reinforced Concrete" and
Chapter IX entitled "Types of Construction" of the Mount Prospect Building
Code of 1957 is hereby reAdopted and made a part of the puilding Code of
the Villa~e of Mount Prospect.
SECTION 3. That paragraph 6 of Chapter VII entitled "Heating
appliances, Boilers, furnaces, fireplaces, chimneys, stacks and fire
protection on same" is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Every masonry chimney at its base shall be provided with an
iron cleanout door."
SECTION 4. That the Building Department of the Village of Mount
Prospect has and shall maintain copies of the text of the Mount Prospect
Building Code of 1957 as they relate to the above chapters and paragraphs.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication, accordinp to law.
