HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 876 10/30/1962 5/10/2'1/62 ORDINANCE NO. f 7 , WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount prospect deem it to be to the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect that the property hereinafter le- gally described, which is presently used as a parking lot, be acquired by the Village for public parking lot purposes, and WHEREAS, the Village does have available moneys for the purpose of acquiring said property, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the president and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1. That it is hereby determined that a public parking lot be established on property legally described as fol- lows: The North 59.39 feet of the North 116.79 feet of the East 50 feet of Block 16 in Mount Pros- pect, a Subdivision of the Northwest quarter of Section 12, TownShip 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, Cook county, Illinois; said property being located at the southwest corner of Main street and Busse Avenue, Mount Prospect, Illinois; and that said property be improved and developed for parking purposes in a manner neces- sary and convenient for public use. Section 2. That it is hereby determined that it is necessary and desirable that the ~illage of Mount Prospect ac- quire title to and possession of said real estate and that said property is necessary, required and needed for parking in the Village of Mount Prospect and lies wholly within said Village. Section 3. That Edward C. Rofert, Village Attorney, be and is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to negotiate for and on behalf of the Village with the owner or owners of the hereinabove described real estate to purchase same for the Vil- lage of Mount Prospect. Section 4. That in the event said Village Attorney is unable to agree with the owners of said property upon the com- pensation to be paid therefor, he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to institute proceedings in any court of competent jurisdiction to acquire title and possession of said property for the Village of Mount Prospect in accordance with the Eminent Domain Laws of the State of Illinois.
