CommissionerDeAragonaskedaboutcompletestreetsdesignprincipalsbeingincorporatedintotheWolf Roadand EuclidAvenueintersectionproject.VillageEngineerLawrie,fromtheaudience,indicatedthe intersectionisunderthejurisdictionofbothIDOTandtheCountyandtheybothhaveadoptedcomplete streetspoliciesthatwouldbeincorporatedintothedesign,butthepolicywouldnotapply directlytotheproject.TheVillagewillhoweverbringupcompletestreetsdesignissueswhen participatinginprojectdevelopment. CommissionerDeAragonaskedaboutincreasingvisibilityforonstreetbikeroutesintheVillage.Village EngineerLawrie,fromtheaudience,indicatedthatpavementmarkingshavebeenusedoncollector streetstoincreasevisibilityforbikeroutes,butsharrowswerenotabletobeusedonneighborhood streetsduetothepresenceofonstreetparkingrequiringthesharrowstobedownthemiddleoftheroad orintheparkingareaswhichwouldnotbeappropriate.EngineerLawrie,furtherexplainedthatthe Villagehascompletedtheonstreetbikenetworkandfutureworkwouldfocusonoffstreet accommodationsalongarterialroutesintheVillage.TheVillagereceivedagranttoevaluateeachofthe arterialroutesintheVillageanddevelopaplantoimplementthenewbikeroutes. TSCMeetingPage2of3December12,2022 ChairmanKuehlthauaskedhowoftencrosswalksarerestriped.EngineerForesmanindicatedpavement markingsinhalfthetownarerepaintedeachyear,eithernorthorsouthofCentralRoad.Additionally variouscrosswalksarerepaintedaspartoftheresurfacingprogram.PublicWorksRepresentativeMoe furtherelaboratedthatcostshavegoneupand thepavementmarkingpaintingisbidthroughamultiple municipalitybidprocess.TheVillagehopestocontinuethesamepaceofrepaintinginthecomingyears, butthatwilldependonhowthebidpricescomein.RepresentativeMoefurtherelaboratedthat2022 wasauniqueyearforthedepartment withastrikegreatlyreducingtheavailabilityofasphaltandconcrete forprojectsthroughouttheyear.Hehopesthingswillgetbackclosertonormalnextyear.
