1 CHAIRMAN POWERS CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 5:45PM AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
CONFERENCE ROOM

3 CITIZENS TO BE HEARD — No one in attendance.
4 APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to approve the Open Session minutes of May 2, 2022.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Busse to approve the Open Session Minutes
of May 2, 2022.
Ayes: Powers, Bork, Busse Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
5 FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Deputy Chief Wang informed the Board that the department has received a positive response from their
recruiting efforts and have 95 applications to date. They will continue recruiting efforts until the application
deadline on August 12, 2022. The written test is scheduled at John Hersey High School on September 17,
2022.
6 POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Eterno updated the Board on recruit Alex Roe, who is in the Academy at SLEA. He is beginning his 5th
week and is doing well. New officer Jonathan Caldero is entering his 2nd week of Field Training and is doing
very well. Officers Bolin, Ralston and Zimmerman continue their FTO Training.
Officer Amanda Tillich resigned after 4 years with the department, to accept a position with the Whitefish Bay
PD.
The eligibility list is exhausted and new recruit testing cycle is underway. The department has received
approximately 50 applications and have completed 20 ride alongs. In addition, Command Staff reviewed 27
lateral officer applications and have selected 13 to move forward with Command Staff interviews. The recruiting
team is working hard to create interest in law enforcement among many diverse platforms.
The National Night Out is scheduled for August 2nd at Lions Park from 5:30-8:30pm.
7 CLOSED SESSION — CHAIRMAN POWERS ASKED FOR A MOTION TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION
7.1 Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance,
or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged
against an employee of the public body for the public body to determine its validity.
7.2 Approve Closed Session Minutes of May 2, 2022.
7.3 Semi Annual Review of Closed Session Minutes for release to the Open Session Book for January 2022
through May 2022 minutes.
7.4 Review Closed Session Audio recordings from May 2018 through December 2020 for possible
destruction in accordance with the Open Meetings Act requirements.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Busse to go into Closed Session at 6:00 P.M.

A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Busse to return to Open Session at 6:18 P.M.
The Board returned to Open Session at 6:18 p.m.

8 VOTE TO DESTROY CLOSED SESSION AUDIO RECORDINGS PURSUANT TO THE OPEN MEETINGS
ACT FOR THE PERIOD OF MAY 2018 THROUGH DECEMBER 2020
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Busse to destroy closed session
audio recordings from May 2018 through December 2020
Ayes: Powers, Bork, Busse Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
9 VOTE TO RELEASE APRIL 2022 CLOSED SESSION MINUTES TO THE OPEN SESSION BOOK
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Busse to release the April 2022
closed session minutes to the open book
Ayes: Powers, Bork, Busse Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
10 OTHER BUSINESS - NONE
11 ADJOURNMENT - With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by
Commissioner Busse to adjourn the meeting at 6:25 p.m.
