HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 947 01/07/1964 ORDINANCE NO. 947 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN VILLAGE OWNED PROPERTY TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT WHICH PROPERTY IS LOCATED NEAR THE INTERESECTION OF GOLF ROAD AND BUSSE ROAD AND WHICH IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS PART OF THE SOUTH SIDE FIRE STATION SITE. WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect, a m~nicipal corporation, is the sole owner of record of the hereinafter described iand and territory, and WHEREAS, said land and territory is not within the corporate limits of any municipality but is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect, and WHEREAS, there are no electors residing on said property and the same is vacant and unoccupied, and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, believe that it is to the best interest of said Village that said land and territory, which is owned by it, be annexed thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: to wit: Section 1. That the following legally described land and territory The Easterly 75 feet of Lot 28 in Block 1 in Elk Ridge Villa Unit No.1, being a Subdivision in the Westhalf of the West half of Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, according to plat thereof registered in the office of the Registrar of Titles of Cook County, Illinois, on November 26, 1958 as Document No. 1831541, and certificate of correction thereof registered as Document No. 1832286, Cook County, Illinois; which territory is contiguous tothe Village of Mount Prospect, is not within the limits of any municipality, contains no electors and is not presently in any municipality, and is solely owned by the Village of Mount Prospect, be and the same is hereby annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect so that hereafter said territory shall be included within the boundary lines and limits of said Village, as is by law in such case made and provided. Section 2. That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby directed to record a certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate plat of said territory with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
