ORDINANCE NO. 953
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING PROPERTY TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, WHICH PROPERTY LIES NORTHERLY OF THE RIGHT
OF WAY OF THE COMMONWEALTH EDISON COMPANY, AND KNOWN
AS THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE.
WHEREAS, a written petition has been filed with the Village
Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect by Marks R. Moore, President of the
Chicago Central District Foundation, being the sole owner of record of the
hereinafter described land and territory, for annexation to the Village of
Mount Prospect, and
WHEREAS, said land and territory is not within the corporate
limits of any municipality but is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect,
and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing on said property, and
WHEREAS, said petition is under oath and in all respects complies
with the requirements of the Statutes in such cases made and provided, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, have examined said petition and be-
lieves it to be to the best interest of said Village that said land and
territory be annexed thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois;
Sectionl.
That all land and territory described in said petition
to wit:
The West 477.89 feet as measured on the north line
thereof of that part of the southwest quarter of the
southeast quarter of Section 14, Township 41 North,
Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian lying
north of the northerly line of the right of way of
the Commonwealth Edison Company, being a line des-
cribed as beginning at a point in the east line of
said southwest quarter of the southeast quarter
which is 100.21 feet south of the northeast Garner
thereof, and running thence southwesterly 1344.38
feet to a point on the west line of said southwest
quarter of the southeast quarter which is 1010.48
feet north of the south line of said Section 14 (as
measured along said west line of said southwest
quarter of the southeast quarter) in Cook County,
Illinois.
which territory is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect, is not
within the limits of any municipality, contains no electors and is not
presently in any incorporated municipality, be and the same is hereby an-
nexed to the Village of Mount Prospect, so that hereafter said territory
shall be included within the boundary lines and limits of said Village, as
is by law in such case made and provided.
Section 2. That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect
is hereby directed to record a certified copy of this ordinance together with
an accurate plat of said territory with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County,
Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 4th day of February, 1964.
