ORDINANCE NO. 956
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TEXT OF THE VILLAGE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREASt the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospectt
acting as a Zoning Commissiont did on the 14th day of FebruarYt 1964t
conduct a public meetingt duly called and held according to law
(Appeal No. 64-6)t for the purpose of considering the amendment of the
Mount Prospect Zoning Ordinance as set forth belowt and
WHEREASt a tentative ordinance was duly published in accordance
with provisions of the law preceding said hearingt and
WHEREASt said Board of Appeals did recommend an amendment to the
text of the Zoning Ordinance of Mount Prospect as hereinafter set fortht and
WHEREASt the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect believe that the amendments to the Zoning text hereinafter
set forth are for the best interest of the Village of Hount Prospect;
NOWt THEREFOREt BE IT ORDAINED by the President and the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospectt Cook CountYt Illinois:
Section 1. That Section 19 of the Mount Prospect Zoning Ordinance
(as published December 31t 1962) be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 19 B-3 District.
In the B-3 District the only uses which may hereafter be
established are:
1. Uses permitted in the B-2 Districts.
2. Lodging house or hotelt with sleeping rooms in number
not exceeding one (1) for each five hundred (500)
feet of lot area.
3. Retail business and retail service establishments
except uses 2 to 13 inclusive of Section 22 and except
auto laundriest which shall be permitted as a special
use only.
4. Animal hospital.
5. Retail Greenhouse or nursery.
6. Restaurantt tavern or confectionary.
7. Undertaking or funeral parlor.
8. Advertising signt billboard or poster panel.
9. Private musict dancingt businesst vocational or other
school or colleges.
10. Lodge hallt temple or private club.
11. Bus passenger station.
12. Temporary carnival or circust operating not longer
than ten (10) days.
13. Parking lots for private self-propelled passenger
automobiles in operating condition.
14. Commercial swimming poolst theaterst drive-inst
trampoline centerst miniature golf coursest golf
driving ranges, amusement arcadest game coursest
skating rinkst and other commercial amusement places
as special uses only."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passaget approval and publication according to law.
PASSED and APPROVED this 25th day of February, 1964.
