ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF AN ADDITIONAL
TAX FOR STREET AND BRIDGE PURPOSES FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR COMMENCING MAY 1, 1964, AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1965
FOR THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Illinois Revised Statutes, Division 81
of Chapter 24, a village is empowered to levy an annual street and bridge
. tax of not more than .06 percent of the full fair cash value of taxable
'property in said village, as equalized or assessed by the Department of
Revenue subject to other provisions of the Illinois law, and
WHEREAS, a village may, by three-fourths vote of the members
elected to the Board of Trustees, levy an additional tax for street and
bridge purposes at the rate of not to exceed .04166 percent of the full
fair cash value of taxable property within said village, as equalized or
assessed by the Department of Revenue, and
WHEREAS, additional funds are required for street and bridge
purposes in order to properly maintain same,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1. Thatan additional tax of .04166 percent of the
full fair cash value, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue,
of all taxable property within the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County,
Illinois, be levied for the fiscal year May 1, 1964 and ending April 30,
1965, for street and bridge purposes; said tax to be in addition to a tax
levy at the rate of .06 percent of the full fair cash value of the property
in said Village.
Section 2. That said street and bridge tax be in addition
to taxes levied for general corporate purposes.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
Section 4. That the Village Clerk shall file a certified
copy of this ordinance with the County Clerk of Cook County, Illinois, along
with the tax levy ordinance of the Village of Mount Prospect for the fiscal
year commencing May 1, 1964 and ending April 30, 1965.
