ORDINANCE NO. 1001
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MOUNT PROSPECT
BUILDING CODE CHAMPTER VI PARAGRAPH 6 SETTING
FORTH THE DUTY OF CONTRACTOR TO INFORM
OCCUPANT AS TO CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and
the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect. Cook
County, Illinois:
Section 1. That Chapter VI of the Mount Prospect
Building Code be amended by adding thereto the following:
"CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY - DUTY OF CONTRACTOR.
6 (b) Any person, firm or corportation, who
erects, constructs or sells any house, dwelling
place, business establishment or other type
building within the village limits and which was
erected under a building permit issued by the
Superintendent of Buildings, shall before
transferring possession to said structure to any
other person, firm or corporation for the ultimate
use as a dwelling place, business establishment or
for any other occupance of said premises by human
beings,either:
(1) Secure an occupancy permit from the
Superintendent of Buildings, certifying
that such building~conforrns to the
provisions of the Building and Zoning
Codes, or

(2) Notify said person, persons, firm or
corporation, classified as the ultimate
users as aforesaid, in writing, that such
occupancy permit has not been issued."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect fram and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
