RESOLUTION NO. 1-08
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF
CAROL L. WIDMER
TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, Carol L. Widmer began her career with the Village of Mount Prospect on February 24,
1986 as an Accountant in the Village Finance Department; and
WHEREAS, due to her strong work ethic and attention to detail Carol L. Widmer was promoted to
Accounting Supervisor and then in December 1989, was promoted to her current position as Deputy
Finance Director; and
WHEREAS, over her twenty-two year career, Carol L. Widmer has worked with four Finance
Directors, and played a major role in bringing innovation to Finance Department operations; and
WHEREAS, the experience and understanding of Village operations which Carol L. Widmer
possessed assisted greatly in the transition of each of these Directors; and
WHEREAS, through her dedication and commitment to the department and to the Village, Carol L.
Widmer gained the respect and admiration of co-workers and elected officials alike; and
WHEREAS, Carol L. Widmer has always cared deeply about her colleagues and has developed and
maintained many relationships with co-workers, both past and present; and
WHEREAS, Carol L. Widmer has always been faithful to the Village of Mount Prospect and has held
her position of Deputy Finance Director as a sacred duty that has served Mount Prospect and its
residents well; and
WHEREAS, after twenty-two years of loyal and dedicated service to the Village of Mount Prospect,
Carol L. Widmer is taking her well deserved retirement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby
acknowledge and recognize Carol L. Widmer for her years of service to the community and do hereby
express our sincere gratitude for her professionalism and dedication to her position with the Village.
SECTION TWO: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby
wish Carol L. Widmer and her husband Tom good health and happiness in their retirement.
SECTION THREE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do
hereby declare Friday, February 8, 2008 as “Carol L. Widmer Day” in the Village of Mount
Prospect.
SECTION FOUR: That an official copy of this Resolution be suitably prepared and presented to
Carol L. Widmer as a perpetual memento.
SECTION FIVE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.

A. John Korn, Richard L. Lohrstorfer, Arlene A. Juracek, Michael A. Zadel
