ORDINANCE NO. 1087
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUILDING CODE SO AS TO
REQUIRE GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT:
SECTION ONE: Chapter 6 of the Mount Prospect Building
Code, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding thereto
a Section 59, the said Section 59 to be and read as follows:
59. Gutters, with downspouts running down
to splash blocks at grade, shall be installed
on the low edges of the roof, or roofs, of all
main buildings, or such roof or roofs shall be
provided with interior roof drains.
Materials:
1. Copper, 16 oz., hard (cornice temper).
2. Galvanizedsheet metal, 26 ga., 1.25
oz. (total weight both sides) zinG
coating per square foot.
3. Solid wood gutters - paint inside of
gutter with two coats of lead-in-oil
paint after installation. Paint haa~
of gutter with two coats of paint before
installation.
4. Interior roof drains shall be connected
to downspouts constructed of standard
weight cast iron, copper, galvanized
steel pipe, or other approved metal
piping.
SECTION TWO: This ordinance shall be in full force
