Thursday, April 8, 2021 8:00 a.m. The meeting of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) of the Village of Mount Prospect was held on Thursday, February 27 in the third floor Executive Conference Room in the Village Hall, 50 South Emerson Street, Mount Prospect, Illinois. CALL TO ORDER Jim Drew called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. Commissioners Jim Drew, Dan Novak, David Roe and Tom Zander were present. Also present were Bill Cooney, Director of Community Development, Connor Harmon, Planner and Antonia Lalagos, Planner. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of October 22, 2020 meeting were reviewed and approved unanimously. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD No comments. OLD BUSINESS Development Update Mr. Cooney provided a brief update on various developments throughout the Village. NEW BUSINESS Business Assistance Grant Program Mr. Cooney stated that the Village was pursuing a second round of a Business Assistance Grant Program to try to help out the many small businesses that are struggling through the COVID pandemic. He walked through the preliminary grant details and asked for input from the commissioners. The commission members indicated that they were in full support of the program and felt that the business community definitely needed this assistance. They suggested that the Village limit restrictions on the grant to ensure that the monies are accessible to as many businesses as possible. OTHER BUSINESS There was no other business to discuss.
