Juracek, Judy McGinnis, Mari Otto, Mary Rankin, Trustee Colleen E. Saccotelli, Gabriel Saintus, Patricia Usnik, Robert Usnik, Barbara VanArsdale, Steve VanArsdale Not Attending: Evelyn Dorman, Gissele Drpich, Denise Rano Guests: None. I. Meeting called to order: Chair Bob Usnik called the meeting to order at 6:01 pm. II. Citizens to be heard: None III. Approval of the minutes: Greg Bernert moved to approve the minutes from January 21, 2021, Mari Otto seconded, and the minutes were approved. IV. Mayor's Comments: Mayor Arlene A. Juracek a. The Mayor's fondest memories over the years have been with Sister Cities. She encouraged ongoing efforts to engage the youth with Sister Cities. France has had a new lockdown, so there will be no exchange this year, but will keep in touch throughout the year. There is a lot to learn from their experiences over the last year that we can bring back to Mt. Prospect. b. We are moving away from some of the restrictions in Illinois now that people age 65 and above have had at least the first vaccine. Illinois is in phase 4 and will be moving into phase 5 when it will be possible have an outdoor wine tasting or other activity, and Farmers Market is now a real possibility. The Mayor encouraged anybody who has not yet had the vaccine to reach out to Village Hall and they will assist in finding appointments. V. Chair's Comments: Bob Usnik Open positions — This is the last meeting that Mayor Juracek will attend as Mayor. Bob Usnik thanked her for everything she has done during her tenure, and stated that he has asked her to continue with the commission as a voting member, and stated that he will bring this before the incoming Mayor. VI. Treasurer's Report: Greg Bernert presented the Treasurer's Report as of February 28, 2021. Judy McGinnis moved to approve, and Christine Barr seconded. The minutes were approved. VII. Committee Reports: a. French Market—Judy McGinnis. Public Works and the Lions Club have been contacted. All are onboard for September 12, 2021 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. They are not yet sure on which side of the tracks we will be located. Emails have been sent to ninety-eight of the vendors, and the event is now set it up on Eventbrite. So far eight people have reserved tents. The accepting vendors are anxious to jump back into the market. The vendors are aware that if we have to cancel for any reason, they will be refunded their tent fee. VIII. Open Discussion: a. None IX. Adjournment: Mari Otto moved to adjourn and Barb VanArsdale seconded. Motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for May 20, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
