AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20.201 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT RELATING TO
DOG LICENSES AND FEES THEREFOR

OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT:
SECTION ONE: Section 20.201 of the Municipal Code
of Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended, is hereby further amended
by striking therefrom the entire first paragraph of such section
and inserting in its place the following sentences as the first
paragraph of the said Section 20.201:
Every person who owns or keeps a dog within the Village
shall report his or her name and address to the Village
Clerk annually within thirty (30) days after the first
day of January each year. Every person within the
Village who prrchases or acquires a dog after January
1 of any year shall also report his or her name and
address to the Village Clerk within thirty (30) days of
such purchase or acquisition. Each such person shall,
at the same time, report to the Village Clerk the name,
breed, color and sex of eacn and every dog owned by or
kept by such person within the Village. Each such
person shall cause such dog or dogs to be registered
for a license in the office of the Village Clerk. The
license fee for each such dog shall be $5.00, provided,
however, that if such license fee is paid by January
31 of the year for which such dog or dogs is registered
or licensed then a discount of forty per cent (40%) of
such license fee shall be allowed. The license fee for
each such dog purchased or acquired after June 30 of
any year shall be $2.50. Upon the payment to the Clerk
of the fee herein provided, the Clerk shall furnish to
the person paying such fee a license tag and a registry
number for each dog for which such fee has been paid.

SECTION TWO: This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in the manner provided by law.
