BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OPEN SESSION MINUTES

Chairperson Powers called the meeting to order at 3:03 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to conduct Fire Department
Oral Interviews.
Roll Call: James Powers, Chairperson
Mark Busse, Commissioner
William Knee, Commissioner
Also Present: John Dolan, Fire Chief
Tom Wang, Deputy Fire Chief
Todd Novak, Fire Batallion Chief
Sarah Gonet, Administrative Assistant

No one in attendance.
CLOSED SESSION
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to go into closed session:
1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) -The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or
dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against
an employee to determine its validity
2. To conduct Fire Department interviews
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Busse to go into Closed Session at 3:04 p.m.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None
Motion Carried
The Board returned to Open Session with Chairman Powers, Commissioner Busse and Commissioner Knee present at
7:39 p.m.
At the conclusion of the interviews, the Board discussed the candidates and identified eleven (11) individuals
meeting the criteria to advance to the next level and to remove from the list the six (6) individuals who did not meet
the criteria.
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Busse to approve the eligibility list.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner
Knee to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 p.m.
