PROCLAMATION
"NATIONAL NIGHT OUT"
AUGUST 7, 2007
WHEREAS, the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and TARGET are
sponsoring a unique, nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program on
August ih 2007 entitled "National Night Out"; and
WHEREAS, the "24th Annual National Night Out" provides a unique opportunity for
the Village of Mount Prospect to join forces with thousands of other communities
across the country in promoting cooperative, police-community crime prevention
efforts; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect plays a vital role in assisting the Mount
Prospect Police Department and other law enforcement agencies through joint
crime, drug and violence prevention efforts in our community and is supporting
"National Night Out 2007"; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of the Village of Mount Prospect be
aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and the impact their
participation can have on reducing crime, drugs and violence in the Village of
Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, police-community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness and
cooperation are important themes of the "National Night Out" program.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Irvana K. Wilks, Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect,
do hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 7,2007 as
"National Night Out"
and call upon all citizens of the Village of Mount Prospect to join the National
Association of Town Watch and TARGET in supporting "24th Annual National Night
Out."
