ORDINANCE NO. 4739
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1 AND CHAPTER 2
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
RELATIVE TO THE BOARD OF LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, ACTING IN THE
EXERCISE OF ITS HOME RULE POWERS:
SECTION ONE: That Section 1.103 entitled "Duties" of Chapter 1 (Village President)
of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended by
adding thereto paragraph D; so that hereafter said Section 1.103.D shall be and read
as follows:
" D. The Village President shall function as Chairman of the Board of Local
Improvements, with the Board of Trustees serving as members of the
Board of Local Improvements."
SECTION TVVO: That Section 2.101 entitled "Election; Functions" of Chapter 2 of the
Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended in its
entirety; so that hereafter said Section 2.101 shall be and read as follows:
"Sec. 2.10i. Election; Functions. The Board of Trustees,
consisting of six (6) members, shall be elected to
office for a four (4) year term. The Board shall be the legislative
department of the Village government, and acts taken and all powers
exercised by it shall be pursuant to its home rule authority as granted by
the Illinois Constitution. The Board of Trustees shall also function as
the Board of Local Improvements, with the Village President serving as
Chairman of said Board of Local Improvements."
SECTION THREE: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
