ORDINANCE NO. 4714
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That Section 8.110 entitled "Arrests" of Chapter 8 of the Village
Code, as amended, is hereby further amended in its entirety; so that hereafter said
Section 8.110 shall be and read as follows:
" Section 8.110. Arrests. The detention and arrest powers of any
elected official shall be no greater than those
granted by law to any citizen pursuant to ILCS Chapter 725, Section 107.3.
The limitation set forth herein shall be effective with respect to Village of Mount
Prospect officials notwithstanding any additional powers of detention and arrest
that purport to be granted by the Illinois Compiled Statutes. "
SECTION TVVO: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
