'CF'r:-U::rE Or:- TJ..-t,E CLERK MUNICIPAL ~LJILDING MOUNT flROSPECT, ILL. ... fu~ ORDINANCE ANNEXING A PORTION OF EAST KENSINGTON ROAD TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT WHEREAS, the Municipal Coda of 1965 (Section 7-1-10, Chapter 24, Illinois Revised Statutes) provides that territory dedicated for street and highway purposes which is under the jurisdiction of the Highway Department of Cook County, Illinois or the Wheeling Township Highway Department may be annexed to a municipality by ordinance if said streat or highway is contiguous to th~ Village, provided that the same has not been annexed to any other municipality, and; WHEREAS, a certain portion of East Kensignton Road pres- ently lies without any municipality but is contiguous to the cor- porate limits of the Villaga of Mount Prospect, and; WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, County of Cook, Illinois, believe it to be to the best interest of the general public and the residents of the Village of Mount Prospect that said portion of said street be annexed to the corporate limits of the Village of flount Prospect. That the territory and land hcr~inaft~r described, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COUNTY OF COOK, ILLINOIS: to wit: The South 50 feet (except the West 466 feet) of the East 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 27, Township 42 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois. being contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect and being dedicated or used for street and highway purposes and not being within any other municipality, be and is hereby annexed ~d made a part of the Village of Mount Prospect. SECTION 2. That the boundary lines of the Village of Mount Prospect be hereby enlarged and extended so as to include within its corporate boundaries the above described territory. SECTION 3. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this Ordinance together with an accurate map of the above territory with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois. SECTION 4.
