ORDINANCE NO. 1174
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXmG A PORTION OF WEST
LINCOLN STREET AND 0.715 ACRES OF LAND
COMMENCING AT A FOINT 540 FEET EAST OF
THE INTERSECTION OF LINCOLN STREET AND
BUSSE ROAD TO THE VILLAGE OF IDUNT PROSPECT.
WHEREAS, the Municipal Code of 1965 (Section 7-1-10,
Chapter 24, Illinois Revised Statutes) provides that territory
dedicated for street and highway purposes which is under the juris-
diction of the Highway Department of Cook County, Illinois, or the
Elk Grove Township Highway Department, may be annexed to a ,
municipality by ordinance if said street or highway is contiguous
to the Village, provided that the same has not been annexed to any
other municipality; and
WHEREAC, a certain portion of West Lincoln Road presently
lies without any municipality but is contiguous to the corporate
limits of the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, a written petition under oath signed by the owner
of record of the land and all the electors residing therein, said
property hereinafter described, has been filed with the Village
Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect, requesting that said land
be '3.l1nexed to the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, said land is not within the corporate limits of
any municipality, but is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect;
and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect, IllinLis, find and believe it to be in the best
interest of said Village that said land and territory be annexed
thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRIJSTEES OF THE VTI.LAGE OF MJUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That all land and territory legally des-
cribed as follows, to wit:
Lot 5 in Iverdale Estates being a subdivision
of part of the South 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4
of the Nor thwest 1/4 of Section 11, Township
41 Nurth, Range 11 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, in Cook County, Illihois, together
with the 50 feet lying South uf and adjoining
said Lot 5.
An accurate map of which territory is attached hereto and made a
part hereof by this reference, be, and the same is hereby, annexed
to the Village of Mount Prospect, Coclk County, Illinois.

SECTION TWO: The Village Clerk of the Village of Mount
Prospect is hereby directed to file in the office of the Recorder
of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois, a copy of this Ordinance,
together with an accurate map of the territory annexed.
SECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by
law.
