AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A PORTION OF A PUBLIC WALK AND A '
POR'l'ION OF Eil':hlJRST STREE'I' TO THE VIlLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WPEREAS, the Municipal Code of 1965 (Section 7-1-10, Chapter 24,
Illinois Revised Statutes) provides that territory dedicated for street
and highway purposes which is under the jurisdiction of the Highway
Department of Cook County, Illinois, or the vJheeling Township P.ighway
Department, may be annexed to a municipality by ordinance if said street
or highway is contiguous to the Village, provided that the same has not
been annexed to any other municipality; and
WHEREAS, a certain portion of a public walk and a portion of
Elmhurst Street lies without any municipality but is contiguous to the
corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHF.:REAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect, County of Cook, Illinois, believe it to be to the best
interest of the general public and the residents of the Village of Mount
Prospect that said portion of a public walk and a portion of Elmhurst
Street be annexed to the corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect.
NOW, THEPEFORE, BE IT -ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDEN'l' M'D BOAFD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF rvlOillJT PROSPECT, COUNTY OF COOK, ILLINOIS:
SECTION OI\TE: That the territory and land hereinafter described,
to-wit:
Said part of Elmhurst Street to be annexed, being all that part ~
thereof, (33 feet in width), as shown on the plat of Prospect
Meadows, being a Subdivision in the West 1/2 of the Southwest
1/4 of Section 27, Township 42 North, Pange 11, East of the
Third Principal Meridian, lying North of and adjoining the
North line of the South 147.58 feet of the Northwest 1/4 of
the Southwest 1/4 of said Section 27 and Southwesterly of and
adjoining the Northeasterly line of Lot 8 in Block 3 in said
Prospect Meadows, extended Southeasterly to the East line of
said Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 27 and
lying East of and adjoining the East line of said Lot 8 in
Block 3 arld said Fast lir~ of Lot 8 extended South to said
North line of the South 147.58 feet of the Northwest 1/4
of the Southwest 1/4 and West of and adjoining the Fast line
of said Quarter, Quarter Section and, that part of the public
walk to be arnexed, being all that part of said public
walk, (being 20 feet in width), extending in an Easterly and
Westerly direction through Block 3 in Prospect Meadows,
aforesaid, lying West of and adjoining the East line of Lot 8
in Block 3 in said Subdivision extended South to the North line
of tlle South 147.58 feet of the East 147.58 feet of the
Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of said Section 27, lying
Easterly of and adjoinir~ a line drahn from a point on the
Northwesterly line of Lot 14 in said Block 3, 48.0 feet
Southwesterly of the Northeast corner of said Lot 14 to the
most Southerly corner of Lot 8 aforesaid, and lying South and
Southeasterly of and adjoining the South and Southeasterly lines
respectively of said Lot 8, lying North of and adjOining the
North line of the South 147.58 feet of the East 147.58 feet of
the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 27 and lying
Northwesterly of and adjoining that part of the Northwesterly
line of Lot 14 aforesaid which lies Easterly of the aforedescribed
line extending from said Northwesterly line of Lot 14 to the
most Southerly corner of said Lot 8, all being in Block 3 as
aforesaid in said Prospect JVleadows, in Cook County, Illinois,

!being contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect and being dedicated
li~' r used for public walk and street purposes and not being vJithin any other
unicipality, be and is hereby anrlexed and made a part of the Village of
Mount Prospect.

SECrrION 'l'~O: That the boundary lines of the Village of f\1ount
Prospect be enlarged and extended so as to include within its corporate
boundaries the abovedescribed territory.
SECTION THPEE: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
file a certified copy of this Ordinance together with an accurate map of
the above territory with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
SECTION FOUR: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner
provided by law.
