ORDINANCE NO. 2001
AN OEDINJ\NCE VACATING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SOUrE KENILWORTE AVENUE,
SOUTH 'vIAVEf:LY AVEJ'1UE A~[) SOlJTH LANCASTER AVENUE

WHEREJ\S, Chapter 24, Section 11-91-1 of the Illinois Revised Statutes
of 1965 empm'lers the corporate authorities of a municipality to vacate any
street or alley or PaI't thereof within their jurisdiction by the adoption of
an ordinance pertaining to same; and
'vJHEFEJ'.S, the President and Board of 'l'rustees of the Village of Pour,t
Prospect have reviewed and determined that the public interests will be sub-
served by the vacating of a certain por~ion of South Kenilworth Avenue, South
Waverly Avenue and South Lancaster Averille, immediately north of Lonnquist
PaI'kway and south of the Park District property, more fully described
hereir~fter; and
1;lhEREAS, the title to the land included v!ithin the streets or parts
thereof so vacated will vest in the then O'II'lners of the abutting propert~r as
prescribed by law; and

\wiEFiliAS, said property O\~lerS of the abutting property have indicated ~
their intentions to submit a plat of resubdivision to the Village authorities ..
which would include and encompass the vacated portions of the abovenamed streets-
so as to attain the necessary square footage for each lot to warrant the ~;
issuance of a builaing perrnit for single family residence; and

\\JliEFiliAS, said owners of abutting property for compensation and
consideration for the vacated properties have agreed to convey certain lots
amounting to approximately equal dimensions located east of South Lancaster
Avenue to the Village of Mount Prospect; and
VillEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of r'~ount
Prospect, Illinois, have determir;ed trJ8.t the best interests of the Village will
be subserved by the vacatin;!, of certain portions of South Kenilworth, South
ItJaverly and South Lancaster Avenues;

which lies West of and adjoining Lot 31, all in
Northwest Hills Country Club, being a subdivision
of parts of the Southwest one-qunrter of Section 11,

Principal ~;eridian according to the plat thereof
recoraed September 2, 1926 as Document No. 9390768,
in Cook County, Illinois.

SEC'I'ION '1'1':0: That those portions of South Kenilworth, South
and South Lancaster Avenues described in Section One herein be
same are hereby vacated.
i SECTION THEEE: 'l'hat this Ordinance shall not becone effective
i until the owners of the property abutting upon those portions of South
Kenilworth, South Waverly and South Lancaster Avenues so vacated, shall
convey to the Village of ~bunt FTospect legal title for the followi~g lots,

recorded on September 2, 1926 as Document No. 9390768
in Coole County, Illinoii3.
SECTION FOUR: The Village Clerk of the Villag;e of f<ount Prospect
is hereby directed to file in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of Cook
County, Illinois, a copy of this Ordinance together Viith an accurate map of
the territory vacated.
SEC'rIOIJ FIVE: 'l'his Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and ap1)roval in the manner approved by Im-;.
