AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING BOARD OF LOCAL IMPROVEMENrS

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE
OF IDOO PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That Article III of Chapter 5 of the ~cipal Code
of IVbunt Prospect of 1957, as amended, is hereby amended in its entirety and
in its stead the said new Article III of Chapter 5 shall be and read as follows:
ARrICLE III - Board of Local Improvements
Section 5.301. There is hereby created a Board of Local Improvements
of the Village of Mount Prospect to operate as proVided by statute and shall
have all the powers conferred and all duties imposed by Division II of
Article 9 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes:
A. Composition of Board - Chairman
The Board of Local Improvements shall be canposed of five (5)
members, to be appointed by the Village Manager. SUch members
may be persons holding other Village government positions, but
no such person holding a Village government position need be
appointed. The Boam shall elect a Chainnan and a Secretary
annually from among its menbers. /my three (3) such members
shall constitute a quorum.
B. Tenure -Removal
The members of the Board of Local Improvements shall serve for
an indefinite term and my be rem::>ved from the Board at the
discretion of the Village Manager.
C. Compensation
Each manber of the Board of Local Improvanents shall receive
conpensation in the amount of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each
meeting attended where a quorum has been established. The
Chairman of the Board of Local Improvanents shall receive an
additional conpensation in the amount of Five Dollars ($5.00)
for each said meeting attended. Such compensation shall be
payable quarterly. Nothing herein contained shall be construed
as authorizing any additional corrpensation to any person who
is an officer or employee of the Village and who receives other
compensation fran the Village. The Chairman and members of
the Board of Local Improvanents shall be canpensated for
attendance at no more than one meeting in any one week.
D. Powers and Duties
The Board of Local Improvements shall have the powers and
duties imposed by Division II of Article 9 of Chapter 24
of the Illinois Revised Statutes.
E. Meetings
The Board of Local Improvanents shall conduct all its meetings
in the Council Room of the Village Hall of the Village of Mount
Prospect. Said meeting shall be called from time to time as
may be needed for the determination of contenplated local
irrprovements. A meeting of the Board my be called by the
Chairman of the Board, the Village Manager, or any three

III SECTION TWO: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
I herewith are hereby repealed.
III SECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.

said meetings shall be sent to all members at least twenty-
four hours prior to same. If all members are present, no
notice of such meeting shall be necessary and such notice shall
be deemed waived.
