ORDINANCE NO. 2030
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9.303 OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT MUNICIPAL
CODE SIGNS AND AWNINGS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT. COOK COUNTY. ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Section 9.303. paragraph (E) of the Municipal
Code of Mount Prospect of 1957. as amended. is hereby further amended by
deleting paragraph (E) (4) in its entirety and inserting therein a new
paragraph (E) (4) so that Section 9.303. paragraph (E) (4) shall be and
read as follows:

Where the building set back is thirty (30) feet or more I
and frontage footage of lot is two hundred (200) feet or I
more. then one standard or ground sign will be permitted;o~
Where the building set back is thirty (30) feet or more
and on a corner lot. then one standard or ground sign
will be permitted; or

Signs in B-3 Business District:
(4) (A) No standard or ground sign except when:

3. Where the building set back is thirty (30) feet or more
and frontage footage of lot is on two streets. then one
standard or ground sign will be permitted on each frontage
that has two hundred (200) feet or more.
(B) Standard or ground signs allowed:
1. Shall not exceed ninety six (96) square feet in area.
2. Shall maintain a clearance of ten (10) feet from the
ground to the bottom and shall in no case exceed a total
height of eighteen (18) feet from the ground to the top
of the sign.
3. The installation shall in no case be erected nearer to
the lot line than the total height of the sign. nor shall
said installation have a set back less than the total
height of said sign.
SECTION 2: Section 9.303 of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect
of 1957. as amended, is hereby further amended by adding thereto a new
paragraph (H) so that Section 9.303, paragraph (H) shall be and read as
follows:
(H) Signs in B-4 Business District:
In the B-4 Business District only the following signs shall be
permitted to be erected under the conditions hereinafter specified:
1. All those signs permitted under the B-3 Business District
as set forth in paragraph (E) herein.
SECTION 3: That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect fron and after its passage. approval and publication in the manner
provided by law.
