RESOLUTION NO.
11-72
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MOUNT PROSPECT BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE
COMMISSIONERS TO ESTABLISH RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING THEIR ACTIVITIES
WHEREAS, the Illinois Revised Statutes in Chapter 24, Division 10-2.1
deals with the statutory requirements governing Boards of Fire and Police
Commissioners of municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of
M~unt Prospect have reviewed and revised the existing rules and regula-
tIons of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of
Mount Prospect; and -
WHEREAS, said revised rules include changes in the residency regulations
for members of the fire and police departments; and
WHEREAS, the Fire and Police Committee of the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect have reviewed said revised rules and have
recommended that the President and Board of Trustees authorize the Board
of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Mount Prospect to
adopt same; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect believe that the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect
will be served by the authorization of said rules;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the "Establishment of the Board and Rules Governing
Examinations, Appointments, Promotions, and Hearings in the Fire and
Police Departments" as reviewed and revised by the Board of Fire and
Police Commissioners of the Village of Mount Prospect, a copy of which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof, be authorized by the President
and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION TWO: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to cause to be
published the necessary legal notice stating the places where the printed
rules may be obtained and of the date not less than-ten (10) days subse-
quent to the date of publication when the rules herein shall go into
operation.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
