RESOLUTION NO. 21-72
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING PERSONS WHO SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM
PAYING FOR MOUNT PROSPECT MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSES
WHEREAS, for many years, it has been the practice of the cor-
porate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect to issue
Mount Prospect motor vehicle license stickers or plates to
certain persons in recognition of the public service rendered
by them; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect desire to continue this practice, but to limit it
primarily to individuals associated with the government of, or
employed by, the Village of Mount Prospect,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That members of the Village of Mount Prospect
Architectural Commission, Board of Appeals, Board of Firemens'
Pension Fund, Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, Board of
Health, Board of Library Directors, Board of Local Improvements,
Board of Police Pension Fund, Des Plaines -- Arlington Heights -_
Mount Prospect -- Palatine Commission, Drainage and Clean Streams
Commission, Insurance Commission, Plan Commission, Safety Com-
mission, Volunteer Fire Department, and Community Services and
Mental Health Commission; Disabled Veterans of the Armed Ser-
vices of the United States of America; employees and officials
of the Village of Mount Prospect; and employees of the Mount
Prospect Public Library shall receive a Mount Prospect motor
vehicle license sticker or plate without payment of the fee
therefor established under Chapter 17 of the Municipal Code of
Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended, subject to the conditions
set forth below in SECTION THREE of this Resolution.
SECTION TWO: That the Village of Mount Prospect, the Mount
Prospect Park District, River Trails Park District, and School
Districts 26, 57, 59 and 214, as well as all other vehicles
having State License Plates beginning with the prefix 15B",
shall be issued Mount Prospect motor vehicle license stickers
or plates for each vehicle owned and operated by such body,
provided such vehicle is registered within the corporate limits
of the Village of Mount Prospect. Upon the receipt of such
license for such vehicle by such governmental agency, no fee as
established under the aforementioned Chapter 17 shall be paid
therefor.
SECTION THREE: That no individual or person shall receive a
motor vehicle license sticker or plate without charge as pro-
vided in this Resolution, unless such person resides within the
corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prosoect and the motor
vehicle for which the license sticker or plate is issued is
registered within the corporate limits of the said Village.
No person shall, by virtue of this Resolution, receive more
than one such vehicle license sticker or plate.
SECTION FOUR: That Resolution No. 27-65, and all prior resolu-
tions of the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect conflicting herewith, be, and they hereby are,
repealed.
SECTION FIVE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
