IN THE FIRST FLOOR TRAINING ROOM OF THE POLICE AND FIRE HEADQUARTERS, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS. ROLL CALL SECRETARY CINDY RUMORE READ ROLL CALL. MOUNT PROSPECT YOUTH COMMISSION MINUTES DECEMBER 06, 2006 PAGE TWO APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION: TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE NOVEMBER 01, 2006 YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING. ST 1 PAUL BERAUER ND 2 NICOLE BRAUS UNANIMOUS BY ALL ATTENDING MEMBERS OLD BUSINESS YOUTH COMMISSION BUDGET MEMBERS DISCUSSED PURCHASING YOUTH COMMISSION CLOTHING FOR NEW MEMBERS. IT WAS DECIDED TO PURCHASE T-SHIRTS AT THIS TIME. MOTION: TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF NAVY BLUE T-SHIRTS FOR YOUTH COMMISSION MEMBERS. ST 1 MICHAEL ARTWOHL ND 2 STEVE LONG UNANIMOUS BY ALL ATTENDING MEMBERS MEMBERS ALSO SUBMITTED IDEAS FOR A NEW YOUTH COMMISSION LOGO TO BE USED ON NEW CLOTHING PURCHASES. MOTION: TO APPROVE CHANGING THE YOUTH COMMISSION LOGO, PENDING APPROVAL BY THE VILLAGE MANAGER. VILLAGE MANAGER MICHAEL JANONIS APPROVED NEW YOUTH COMMISSION LOGO ON DECEMBER 08, 2006. ST 1 DEREK STEINWEG ND 2 STEVE LONG APPROVED BY ATTENDING YOUTH COMMISSION MEMBERS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ANDREW STEINWEG. YOUTH COMMISSION COMMITTEES MEMBERS DISCUSSED CHANGING CURRENT YOUTH COMMISSION COMMITTEES AND FORMING NEW COMMITTEES AT THE JANUARY MEETING. A/A DAVID SCHEIN SUGGESTED FORMING A LIAISON COMMITTEE TO ATTEND VILLAGE BOARD MEETINGS, VARIOUS VILLAGE COMMISSIONS, AND COFFEE WITH COUNCIL AND REPORT BACK TO THE YOUTH COMMISSION. MR. GEORGE CLOWES ADVISED REVIEWING THE ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE YOUTH COMMISSION WHEN FORMING NEW COMMITTEES. COPIES OF THE ORDINANCE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL ATTENDING MEMBERS FOR REVIEW. MOUNT PROSPECT YOUTH COMMISSION MINUTES DECEMBER 06, 2006 PAGE THREE MOUNT PROSPECT YOUTH RESOURCE CATALOG COPIES OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT YOUTH RESOURCE CATALOG DISTRIBUTED TO ATTENDING MEMBERS TO REVIEW AND UPDATE. MOUNT PROSPECT PUBLIC LIBRARY DISPLAY CASE LOTTERY NICOLE LOGISZ ADVISED THROUGH E-MAIL THE RESULTS FROM THE MOUNT PROSPECT PUBLIC LIBRARY DISPLAY CASE LOTTERY. THE YOUTH COMMISSION WILL HAVE THE TEEN ZONE DISPLAY CASE FOR MARCH 2007. DISCUSSION OF WHAT THE DISPLAY WILL CONSIST OF TO BE DISCUSSED AT THE JANUARY MEETING. NEW BUSINESS VILLAGE ALCOHOL ORDINANCE MR. GEORGE CLOWES TALKED TO MAYOR WILKS AND THE VILLAGE ATTORNEY REGARDING POSSIBLE CHANGES TO THE ALCOHOL ORDINANCE. COPIES OF POSSIBLE CHANGES AND A COPY OF THE ORDINANCE WERE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL ATTENDING MEMBERS FOR REVIEW WITH FURTHER DISCUSSION AT THE JANUARY MEETING. OTHER BUSINESS A/A DAVID SCHEIN SUBMITTED AN ARTICLE FOR MEMBERS TO REVIEW PERTAINING TO E-WASTE - DISPOSING OF COMPUTERS AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT. MEMBERS DISCUSSED SETTING UP A COMMITTEE TO WORK WITH THE VILLAGE. COFFEE WITH COUNCIL NEXT MEETING: SATURDAY, JANUARY 13, 2007 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. – VILLAGE HALL 50 SOUTH EMERSON STREET MOTION TO ADJOURN MOTION: TO ADJOURN THE DECEMBER 06, 2006 YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING.
