HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 14-73 04/24/1973 RESOLUTION NO. 14-73 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE VOTES CAST AT THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD APRIL 17, 1973, AND DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF WHEREAS, a regular municipal election was held in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday, April 17, 1973, for the purpose of electing a Village President (for a 4 year term), a Vil- lage Clerk (for a 4 year term), four Village Trustees (three for a 4 year term, and one for a 2 year term to fill a vacancy), and tWQ Library Directors (for 6 year terms); and 'WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Moun.t: Prospect have canvassed the votes cast at the said election and are ready to report herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That said regular municipal election of April 17, 1973, was dury-Eeld as provided by law. SECTION TWO: That 10,706 votes were cast in the following manner: FOR VILLAGE PRESIDENT Albert J. Motsch Robert D. Teichert Michael H. Minton NO. OF VOTES 531 6,098 3,917 FOR VILLAGE CLERK Donald W. Goodman 8,096 FOR VILLAGE TRUSTEES (For a 4 year term) Leo Floras Donald B. Furst Patrick J. Link Errol F. Richardson (For a 2 year term) Richard N. Hendricks 4,626 7,074 7,416 6,904 8,440 FOR PUBLIC LIBRARY DIRECTORS Jack D. Anderson Samuel A. Hess Miriam A. Star 7,312 4,625 6,187 SECTION THREE: (a) That inasmuch as Robert D. Teichert received the greatest number of votes, he is hereby declared elected to the Office of Village President of the Village of Mount Prospect, commencing May 1, 1973. (b) That inasmuch as Donald W. Goodman received the greatest number of votes, he is hereby declared elected to the Office of Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect, commencing May 1, 1973. (c) That inasmuch as Donald B. Furst, Patrick J. Link and Errol F. Richardson received the greatest number of votes, they and each of them are hereby declared elected to the Office of Trustee of the Village of Mount Prospect for a four year term, commencing May 1, 1973. (d) That inasmuch as Richard N. Hendricks received the greatest number of votes, he is hereby declared elected to the Office of Trustee of the Village of Mount Prospect for a two year term~ commencing May 1, 1973. (e) That inasmuch as Jack D. Anderson and Miriam A. Star received the greatest number of votes, they and each of them are hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Director of the Village of Mount Prospect for six year terms, commencing May 1. 1973. (f) That all the foregoing officials so elected shall qualify in the manner and time prescribed by law. SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from --ancr after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
