RESOLUTION NO. 01-07
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF
ROBERTA C. CLINGER
TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, Roberta C. Clinger began her career with the Village of Mount Prospect
on October 13, 1980 as secretary to the Village Manager; and
WHEREAS, Roberta C. Clinger was not only the Village Manager’s secretary, but
was also responsible for caring to the needs of the Mayor and Board of Trustees, as
well as supporting a variety of volunteer Boards and Commissions; and
WHEREAS, Over her twenty-seven year career, Roberta C. Clinger has served three
Village Managers, three Mayors and twenty Trustees; and
WHEREAS, In 1986 Roberta C. Clinger was promoted to the position of
Administrative Assistant to the Village Manager due to her superior skills and never-
ending willingness to take on additional responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, Through her strong work ethic, attention to detail and professional
demeanor, Roberta C. Clinger gained the respect and admiration of her co-workers
and they often sought her counsel with regard to Village related issues; and

WHEREAS, Roberta C. Clinger has always cared deeply about her colleagues, and
over the years, developed many strong friendships that continue even if they are no
longer with the Village. Roberta was known for remembering everyone’s birthday
and anniversary, often sending a card acknowledging the milestone; and
WHEREAS, In 1996 Roberta C. Clinger was recognized as one of Mount Prospect’s
Shining Stars when she was named an “Unsung Hero” by the Special Events
Commission for all of her behind the scenes work on numerous Mount Prospect
events; and
WHEREAS, Roberta C. Clinger has always been fiercely loyal to the Village of Mount
Prospect and has held her position of Administrative Assistant as a sacred trust that
has served Mount Prospect and its residents well; and
WHEREAS, After twenty-seven years of loyal and dedicated service to the Village of
Mount Prospect, Roberta C. Clinger is taking her well deserved retirement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect do hereby acknowledge and recognize Roberta C. Clinger for her years of
service to the community and do hereby express our sincere gratitude for her
professionalism and dedication to her position with the Village.
SECTION TWO: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect do hereby wish Roberta C. Clinger and her husband Tom good health and
happiness in their retirement.
SECTION THREE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect do hereby declare Friday, January 26, 2007 as “Roberta C. Clinger Day” in
the Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION FOUR: That an official copy of this Resolution be suitably prepared and
presented to Roberta C. Clinger as a perpetual memento.
SECTION FIVE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
AYES: Mayor Irvana K. Wilks, Trustees Timothy C. Corcoran, Paul Wm. Hoefert,
A. John Korn, Richard L. Lohrstorfer, Michaele W. Skowron, Michael A. Zadel
NAYS: None.
