HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 17-74 06/04/1974 RESOLUTION NO. 17-74 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF THE CENTRAL SCHOOL PROPERTIES WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the Village of Mount Prospect acquire additional land for future expansion of municipal facilities; and WHEREAS, the real estate commonly known as the southeast corner of Central Road and Elmhurst Road (Illinois Route 83) , Mount Prospect, Illinois, and legally descri- bed hereinbelow is well suited as a site for future expansion; and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority heretofore given, the Village Manager has made a firm offer on behalf of the Village of Mount Prospect to purchase said property from the owners thereof, but said offer has not been accepted by said owners; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That. it is hereby determined that the following described real estate commonly known as the southeast corner of Central Road and Elmhurst Road (Illinois Route 83) , Mount Prospect, Illinois, consisting of approximately 2.6075 acres be acquired by the Village of Mount Prospect as and for a site for future expansion of municipal facilities: Parcell: Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 in Block 4 in Busse and WilleTs Resubdivision in Mount Prospect in the West Half of Section 12, Town- ship 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian; also Parcel 2: Lot 14 in Block 4 in Busse and WilleTs Resubdivision of part of the East Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 12, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, together with Lots 19 to 22, both inclusive, in Block 8 in Mount Prospect in the North- west Quarter of Section 12, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, all in Cook County, Illinois; SECTION TWO: That it is hereby determined that it is necessary and desirable that the said real estate legally described in SECTION ONE above be acquired for future expansion of municipal facilities, and that the Village, pursuant to authority vested in it by the 1970 Illinois Constitution and other authority contained in the Illinois Re~ vised Statutes, acquire title to and possession of said real estate; all of which land and territory is situated wholely within the corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect. SECTION THREE: That the Village Attorney be and is hereby authorized, empower- ed, and directed to institute proceedings in any court of competent jurisdiction to ac- quire title to and possession of said real estate for the Village of Mount Prospect, all in accordance with the law of Eminent Domain of the State of Illinois" SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and public&tion in the manner provided by law.
