Absent: Martha Helm, Paul Seils, Janice Farley, Skip Farley, Eileen Gattas, Teresa
Wolf, Kathy Janonis (All absent were N)
Mike Janonis chaired today's meeting and called the meeting to order at 9:02 am. A
motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of September 2, 2006. The
financial report as of September 2, 2006 was presented by Mike Janonis.
Do-It-Yourself Sousa: No report.
Fine Arts Festival: No report.
4th of July Parade: Jill read a thank-you note from Fairview's Cub Scouts Pack #151.
Bicycle Ride, October 14, 2006: Mike reported on Teresa's behalf. Teresa needs 3-4
helpers from 8:30 to 9:30 on October 14, 2006. The Bicycle Ride will be held at Melas
Park. It was moved by Linda and seconded by Jill that the Special Events Commission
picks up the full costs of the t-shirts. This motion was approved.
Celestial Celebration XIV: Linda reported that we are upgrading the menu selection for
the 2007 Celestial Celebration. Sandy shared two letters for soliciting funds that she will
be mailing. One is for groups that have contributed in the past, and the other is for
soliciting new groups. These letters were approved by Chairman Skip Farley prior to the
meeting.
Holiday Decorating Event: No report.
Winter Parade: Mike reported that the village is already receiving responses from
groups that will be participating in the 2006 Winter Parade. Good news, Mrs. Claus is
confirmed.
Other: The commission discussed the Snow Sculpture event that will be held at
Randhurst Shopping Mall on January 12-13,2007. For now, this is an FYI, and no action
is required by this commission.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:17 am.
