HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 33-75 11/04/1975 !~\ ~ ',,----- RESOLUTION NO. 33-75 A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF GENERAL REVENUE SHARING WHEREAS, the Congress and President of the United States of America have hereto- fore embarked upon a program of sharing federal revenues with municipalities throughout the country; and WHEREAS, the first five year program involved with this revenue sharing is about to expire; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect, along with many other cities and villages across the land, has utilized the funds derived from the federal government through such federal revenue sharing and found that this program is indeed good -- not only for the betterment of our governmental operations, but for the entire community; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has used such monetary assistance derived from the funds made available through federal revenue sharing for the creation and continued functioning of many important programs for the enrichment of the citizens of the Village of Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect believe the continued sharing of such federal revenue funds is of utmost importance to the government and affairs and the citizenry of the Village of Mount Prospect; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That the Village of Mount Prospect urge the Congress of the United States of America and President Gerald Ford to work together to continue the federal general revenue sharing program. SECTION TWO: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby authorized and directed to forward certified copies of this Resolution to those Repre- sentatives and Senators in the United States Congress who represent this district as well as to the President of the United States. SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
