RESOLUTION NO. 27-77
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE DES PLAINES
RIVER BASIN STEERING COMMITTEE
..
WHEREAS, an application has been submitted to the U. S. Department of Ag'riculture
under the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act, Public Law 566 for fundin
of the Lower Des Plames Tributaries Watershed Flood Control Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has been an active member and participant
in the DesPlaines River Basin Steering Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is very much aware of the severe flooding
problems along the Des Plaines River and its tributaries;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Administrator of the U. S. Department of Agriculture,
Soil Conservation Service is urged to act favorably on the Lower Des Plaines
Tributaries Watershed Flood Control Application for Federal Assistance under
Public Law 566, the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act.
SECTION TWO: That the Village Clerk be authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this Resolution to the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Soil
Conservation Service.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication as prescribed by law.
